What Are The Must-See Attractions In Yellowstone National Park?
Old Faithful
Old Faithful is one of the most iconic symbols of Yellowstone and is likely to be at the top of your itinerary. This world-renowned geyser erupts every hour and a half, so make sure you plan accordingly and get a good viewing spot. Eruptions typically clear between 130-180 feet, so have your camera ready!

Grand Prismatic Spring
The largest hot spring in the country, this colorful geothermic pool is roughly 250 by 300 feet in size and 160 feet deep. The gorgeous rainbow waters make this attraction particularly awe-inspiring. Coloration comes from pigmented thermophilic bacteria that thrive on the minerals present in the spring and generate a range of hues including reds, yellows, and oranges.

Yellowstone Lake
Not only is the lake the largest body of water in Yellowstone, it’s also the largest freshwater lake above 7,000 feet in the entire country. Once the lake unfreezes (typically in June), it’s a great place to go kayaking or boating and to see the park from a different perspective. Be on the lookout for wildlife – it’s a great spot to catch a glimpse of a bald eagle, bison or bear!

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
This stunning canyon is a popular hiking area that was formed over thousands of years of erosion. The canyon stretches over 20 miles long and is roughly a half a mile wide, with stunning red-orange canyon walls that are a sight to behold. Lace up your hiking boots and set out for a day of exploration, or simply take a leisurely walk to Artists Point or Inspiration Point for unbelievable views!

Hayden Valley
This beautiful valley is a well known gathering place for wildlife including elk, bison, several bird species, coyotes, and the occasional grizzly bear. You can stay in your vehicle and view from afar, but it’s best to get out and walk for the best perspective. Hikers can enjoy two trails, Hayden Valley and Mary Mountain, which will take you along Yellowstone River and geothermic features.
